My Life In Buddhism: Tenzin Khentse, Phara Khenchen Rinpoche - 21st March 2024 - Live Online
Date: Thursday, 21st March 2024
Time: 6:30pm - 7:30pm UK
Duration: 1 hr
Format: Live Online, with Q&A
Overview
Join us for our second instalment of My Life in Buddhism series, where we explore Buddhism through the lived experience of Buddhist practitioners.
This time we are grateful to be joined by Tenzin Khentse, Phara Khenchen Rinpoche.
Khenchen Rinpoche was born in 1989 in Tibet. In order to acquire the Buddhist education unavailable in his homeland any more, he was taken out of Tibet secretly when he was three years old and he was enrolled as a monk at Drepung Loseling Monastic College in south India. Even in exile in India, Drepung Monastery is a community of more than two thousand monks, who are from Tibet and the Himalayan regions and follow a strenuous curriculum of study and debate. After he had completed his education and earned his Geshe degree, on the advice of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Khenchen Rinpoche came to the UK to learn English. He spent the time of Covid practising his language skills at Land of Joy dharma centre, Greenhaugh in Northumberland
Meet a cheerful, relaxed, kind and humble young Tibetan monk. Hear and ask questions about his life growing up in one of the world's biggest monasteries, his life in Buddhism and his life in the UK too!
