About the Teacher

Geshe Dorji Damdul is a respected Tibetan Buddhist scholar-monk of the Gelug tradition and the Director of Tibet House, the cultural centre founded by Tenzin Gyatso to preserve and share Tibetan culture and philosophy. He received his monastic education at Drepung Loseling Monastery, one of the great monastic universities of Tibetan Buddhism, where he undertook many years of rigorous study in Buddhist philosophy, logic, and debate, culminating in the Geshe Lharampa degree, the highest academic qualification in the Gelug tradition.

Geshe Dorji Damdul previously served as an official interpreter to the Dalai Lama, assisting in teachings and international dialogues and helping communicate complex aspects of Buddhist philosophy to global audiences. He is widely known for his clear and engaging presentation of profound topics such as dependent origination, emptiness, and Buddhist philosophy of mind, and regularly teaches students and audiences around the world, contributing to the preservation and contemporary understanding of the Tibetan Buddhist intellectual tradition.
