Help celebrate Losar 2026 Tibetan New Year 2152 and welcome in the Year of the Fire Horse
EVERYONE WELCOME!
This is a lovely event for everyone to enjoy, including families with children. Please note that anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times as we cannot take responsibility for minors.
You are welcome to stay overnight on Saturday and enjoy the evening with us or alternatively come along as a day visitor and join all or any of the sessions on Sunday. For accommodation and catering purposes (residential and day visitors) we do need you to book your place.
Saturday 21st February 2026
4.00 p.m. - Arrival from 4.00 p.m. and check-in for those staying on a residential basis
4.30 p.m. - Welcome and Introduction to Losar – Tibetan New Year
5.00 p.m. - Polishing and preparing butter lamps for evening lighting and offering ceremony
7.00 p.m. - Supper
8.00 p.m. - Butter lamp lighting and dedication ceremony with evening puja
Sunday 22nd February, 2026
8.30 a.m. - Morning meditation
9.00 a.m. - Breakfast
10.00 a.m. - Introduction to the Year of the Fire Horse
10.30 a.m. - Losar New Year Activities – fun with flags, cards and wood gathering!
In groups of 2 or 3, equipped with string, scissors, ladders and flags, renew the Lam Rim grounds with colour and prayers

Hunt and gather wood to create the afternoon bonfire
1.30 p.m. - Losar Community Lunch
3.00 p.m. - Karma yoga with clearing away, washing up, cleaning and re-setting the dining room
4.00 p.m. - “Cast out the old and bring in the new” around the traditional bonfire
5.30 p.m. - Close of celebrations and fond farewells
